I started listening to CoastFM in 1993 when I was fed up with 5AD and SAFM’s brainwash. A college friend told me there was a radio station “on the coast” on 88.5 Fm. I left my dial there until it was transferred to 88.7 and moved to Glandore. I am a tailor (by trade) and being self-employed helped me to listen to my favourite station uninterrupted. I always loved music, I never learnt to play any musical instruments, but always had a very good ear. As a school kid I was in the School Choir, and I had high distinctions in Musical Education. Even in my Army service I was the one who started the marching songs…on a Parade.
Being a kid in the 60’s, teenager in the 70’s, young adult in the 80’s and the 90’s, you can guess my preferences? When I retired in 2023 there was no other way than joining the Presenters Training. With my Hungarian accent I was not too confident to do it. Then Lucky Phil Davis took me under his “wing” and made me finish the course. That’s why I am an “Honorary Ratbag”! My program is “Driving Thru the Night” and is on every Tuesday morning 3am to 6 am. I do occasional fill ins for other Presenters and I am also involved in the Monthly Sausage sizzles at Bunnings Mile End. Join me please on my journey….you won’t be disappointed!
